Showing Dad My First Deer

Here I am at my sister's home showing off my first deer to my Dad.  He was so proud of me that "opening day" of rifle season back in 1986.  He even thanked Bob, my future husband, for taking the time to teach me how to hunt.  The following November he died.

  1. My father was proud when he realized that I was interested in hunting. At first he said that hunting wasn´t a thing to do for girls :-)

  3. Hallo! I just found your blogg and I am very glad I did :) I grow up in a hunting family and I have allways loved to be out in the nature, but it was just three years ago I decided that I should become a hunter my self. Sometimes I wish I should have started earlier but when I read that you started allmost in the same age I realized that it is not to late...:) How great that you had the time to show your dad your first deer and that you could feel how proud he were :) Greetings Susanne.

ps is this the blog you mostly use or is it the other...?

  4. Thanks for coming by Susanne and I'm glad you found my blog. So glad you have decided to become a hunter. I wished I had grown up in a hunting family but did not. So it's never to late to get out there and enjoy the great outdoors. Yes, it was wonderful for my Dad to see me get a deer. He was just as excited as I was. I do post everyday at Marian's Hunting Stories, etc., etc., etc., at: http://mariandeer.blogspot.com
I hope to see you there and thanks again for dropping by. I checked out your blog and it is very nice and I will return because I love your pictures. :)

Deer House

Drove down an old back road today, and it looks like this little lady took up residence here. Photo by Stephen Price.
